2006 Tennessee AMTA Convention in Nashville, TN a Big Success
Dr. Jarrell and crew delivered SRA Level I Basic Seminar at the Tennessee State AMTA chapter convention in March to rave reviews, with literally 100% positive feedback on course evaluation forms. In addition, about 30% of the students traveled to Atlanta two weeks later for a Level 2 Advanced course, and many others have registered in our upcoming Level 2 courses.

Special Thanks go to Fran Cegelka, LMT and Owner of Institute of Therapeutic Massage and Movement - Nashville TN for all his help and assistance before, during and after the convention. We look forward to working with him to bring future SRA Seminars to Nashville.

Here are a few comments from the Students!
"I loved it, couldn’t wait to try on clients last night as well as tonight. The staff as well as Dr. Frank were approachable and very informative. One of the best classess I’ve been to." - Nancy Evans, LMT

"Wow! Lots of info. Measurable, obtainable results, hands-on class. Great stuff! I hope we can educate many and spread the good news." - Tom Cleppe, LMT

"Overall excellent, I like an experience that challenges my thinking, reviews my skills and ignites my passion for improving my skills. Now when I see leg lengths I’ll know why and what to consider for treatment.

I would recommend SRA to any LMT whose interests include medical and sports massage and any practitioner looking for a direction to take their work to the next level. Yall are real nice! Helpful assistants and readily available instructor!"
Marna McKinney LMT

"It is a great class. Lots of hands-on. Instructor to student ratio was great. It will help me to determine the problem easier, without trying to treat everything. It has accuracy and reproducibility. I would recommend this to anyone who does bodywork." - Kathie Phillips, LMT

Tom Danielson - ProCycling Mag

Excerpt from ProCyling Magazine article,
"Tom Danielson" by Ellis Bacon
March 2006 Issue

"It made a huge difference having Dr Frank at the Vuelta…it was unique to wake up without tightness
."

"The rest of the morning is set aside for training, but we meet up
again at lunchtime at his chiropractor's surgery [clinic] in downtown Durango.

Danielson has regular manipulation sessions [SRA sessions] with Dr Frank Jarrell, with whom he has built a close relationship in the short time they have worked together. They were introduced by another of Dr Jarrell's clients, and another Durango resident, the current US cyclocross national champion Todd Wells, back in the Autumn of 2004.
After Danielson was forced to quit last year's Giro in the first week, suffering with knee pain, he returned home to Durango to spend up to three hours every day being worked on by Dr Jarrell.

The Spinal Reflex Analysis system, developed by Dr Jarrell, identifies the protocols necessary to shut down problem areas of pain in the body. Dr Jarrell was brought to last year's Vuelta to work with Danielson and the team, and as he lies being cracked, prodded and twisted, Danielson extols the values of SRA.

"It made a huge difference having Dr Frank at the Vuelta. Normally after a race, my back and arms would be screwed, so it was unique to wake up without that tightness." Other members of the team benefited from Dr Jarrell's presence, too, and he is again likely to be involved with the team this season.

"It was great that Johan Bruyneel trusted me enough for me to be there the whole time," Dr Jarrell tells procycling, producing yet another bloodcurdling crack from Danielson's neck on the table beneath him. "But it was tough. I'd often only get 15-20 minutes with each athlete each day, and it often wasn't until nine or 10 o'clock in the evening."

Dr. Frank working on TomDBut as the number of team members still in the race dwindled, more time being freed up to spend being worked on by Dr Jarrell was one of the few advantages for Danielson. "Yeah, it got tough there with our team decreasing in size," Danielson remembers. "Whereas I had eight people before helping me, I ended just three - Michael, Stijn Devolder and Ben Noval."

Despite the odds, eighth place in his first full grand tour bodes well for the future - and for the Giro in particular. But whereas this May's race is a very real goal, it is hard to believe that Danielson went into the Vuelta with the intention of just trying to finish the race.

"I was really nervous, because when Johan says,' Tom, you must finish this race,' you know that he really does mean it.

It soon became clear to Bruyneel, however, that his young rider was managing to mix it with the best climbers and had excelled in the time trials to put him up there in the overall classification.

"In the second half of the race, he realized that I wasn't really cracking, wasn't fading, that the top 10 was a possibility and he started to get really excited,"

Danielson recalls. "So then it became, 'OK, now you have to hold on.'

"But the Vuelta is a very unique race; it seems to get faster as the race goes on. So the battle was getting harder, and my body was tired and I was inexperienced, and mentally I wasn't quite confident about what would happen."

Danielson says he finds it hard to find the right words to describe the experience.

"It's just incredible - a real battle every single day, and a unique feeling in your body, mind and soul. Your mood and your morale go up and down incredibly. And I think my body changed so much having ridden it," Danielson says, revealing just what toll three weeks of racing takes on a rider. "But it's going to help me in the future. Like I said when we last met two years ago, I still feel like a young rider. Despite being 27 years old, I feel like I have a good 10 years left in my career, and that this is just the beginning. I'm really excited about seeing how my body changes with each grand tour, and I think that after finishing in the top 10 with no experience in my first, that with a whole lot of work, the future's going to be good..."
